| H.S.Anderson Les Paul STD Jeff Beck Model When I got this guitar. The previous owner put the P-90 type Duncan, Small Humbucker and Bigsby Unit. But the Bridge was combination type. So, It should be originally Jeff Beck style Les Paul model. I took off all the parts and put the Gibson Classic 57 in neck position. Put the Duncan (JB) on bridge. The pick guard was missing. So, I put very old Yamaha LP Pick Guard now. I like the current modification is more closed to original condition of this guitar. However, this Les Paul was not on the official H.S. Anderson catalog. Jeff beck, he came to Japan first time in 1973 with his Les Paul as B.B.A. He came Japan in 1975, this combination bridge type LP was very popular in Japan. This guitar was made in 1976 (Body inside we could see the signature of this guitar builder). So, I guess this guitar was made like custom guitar out of general catalog. As replica of Gibson, It is slightly different. The top arch is a bit soft curve. The sound, well, pretty much Gibson tone. The condition of this guitar is fair as 32 years old. The body front and back have scratches and dent. Also, we can find out the holes of Bigsby unit. (These holes are plugged by small wood bar and put the black color paint). The neck is straight but the behind, there are small dents on. I'm not sensitive these, but if you are thinking the brand new, you hate it. GRECO JB model is pretty expensive here. For Anderson, I never seen. It is super rare LP guitar anyway. Good era's great guitar ! |
