Ibanez Professional Series Bob Weir Model # 2681
I don't know the detailed about the current Ibanez guitar. Actually, no
interest for me.
For me, Ibanez was the twin of Greco guitar made by Fujigen.
I could remember late 70's, Ibanez was suddenly starting the domestic distribution.
In my remember, Kanda shokai took their guitar with Tama Drum. A little
bit later, Hoshino start the distribution directly for
domestic dealers. I don't know Kanda and Hoshino had an argument for sales
agreement...
This is Bob Weir Model # 2681. Well, one of my dream guitar when I was uni. student.
I remeber it was also so expensive guitar.
The double cut way body was made by Ash Top and Back. Top is 2P and the
back is 3P.
Pretty heavy. The neck is Maple 3P (Moho or Rose sandwitched) neck. The
nut width is 43.7mm.
Iy has a beautiful ebony fingerboard with "Tree of Life" inlay.
The tone is bright. The bridge PU is really bright tone.
It is not Like SG tone becasue of body materials.
Pretty good and looks, I like.
