| Guyatone LG-880 Marroly (Rory Gallagher Model) This is a guitar of JV legend. Rory used very old Guyatone guitar when he was young. When He came to Japan for the tour, he stopped at Guyatone head office and asked them to look for the guitar which he used before. Very regretfully, Guyatone could not find out. Then, they discussed about the custom made guitar. 1 year later, Guyatone sent him a proto type guitar which was designed by Rory's idea. LG-880 is mass^production model base on Rory's proto-type. I think it was not really great sales in Japan compare with other JV guitars. However, all guitar players knew this guitar story, and dreaming to get this model and Glory which is next version of Marroly (Rory used both guitars, anyhow). I'm a guy wants to get this guitar. I finally got this guitar as my collection. The condition is not really great. But the neck, frets and electric circuits are fine. The nut is not original. I would replace it soon (I will make the born nut by myself). The knobs are changed to ST type, I hate. I think the original one was aluminum knob. I will replace them too when I find the similar one. Pretty heavy body, but pretty clean tone. This original PU used permally-York and Alnico magnet single PU. It tooks like Humbucker, but like P-90 construction. The tuner is old Grover 102N. The scale is same as Fender ST. Well, it is very rare guitar. I would keep this guitar, anyway. |
