AKAI PROFESSIONAL 1997 SG-112

This is actually brand new guitar. I got this from the factory (Vestax). As you may know (if you knew well about JV history),
this guitar is already discontinued. You could check all story about Akai guitar on my WEB page.

For 13 years. this guitar is sleeping at factory, and delivered here. It is just like time machine. I started to check this guitar detailed.
This strat type bolt on neck guitar has a good quality 2P ash body and 1P maple neck. The finger board is Ebony.
The bolt on neck was set on the body with heelless cut. It makes very easy play for high position. The neck head has the angle like Gibson guitars.
It made the good tension without strings guide. The scales is same with 24-3/4 like Les Paul. The frets are a bit wide type. and 22 + 1 frets type
It should be wide fret type. I'm not sure the size but it was slightly wider than Strat.
0 fret are installed on purpose. It made a good tone even open cord. The neck shape is almost like C, it is very smooth, I love it very much.

The hardware, Gotoh Tuner and Wlikinson VS-100CR were installed.
Pick ups are H-S-S Layout. Of course, these pickups were made for 1997 series. It is pretty good tone
The Pickup were designed to show the same tone when active and passive. I feel that tone of active time is a bit like with compressor.
The output balance of Neck, Middle and Bridge PU was a controlled well.
The control is 1V, 2T(Treble/bass). This control was effected for both active and passive time. Mini Switch is changing Active and Passive.

The weight of this guitar is very light. It is only 3.2 Kg. Very good quality Ash wood is used.
No doubt, if we re-issue this guitar now, it should be over US$ 2500.

Good value for great historic MIJ guitar now.
